Welcome to Ulisse

Welcome to Ulisse - Ulisse International Network

The Ulisse International Network is born the 4th of February, 2011 in Milan (Italy).
All the partners of Ulisse are involved in Gifted education and want to share knowledge, expertise, materials and everything that can help Gifted students to develop their potential.
Assuming that:
1.     gifted and talented children can perform at a very high level in academic and/or non-academic field due to the possession of abilities that are above the mean of their age peers. These children can be identified by professionals expert in the field of giftedness and need to have specific educational programs, different from those generally offered by schools, in order to have the possibility to develop their potential and to fully maximize their abilities, in an harmonic development process that can lead them to contribute to the society in a way that match their capacities.
2.     Gifted and talented children are not a homogeneous group – in terms of style of learning, creativity, pace of development, personality, social behavior – and can be isolated, misunderstood and sometimes discriminated by others.
3.     Different organizations, with different competences, professional missions and legal statutes, have a specific interest in Giftedness and are interested in carrying out research and/or intervention projects in Italy and abroad.
4.     This goal can be better followed through collaboration between the parties that can lead also to the creation of specific training and research programs on Giftedness, giving special attention to the training of a new kind of professionalism that can work in the field of education.
5.     There is a common interest in sharing information, ideas and suggestions for research, training and intervention activities.
6.     All the organizations subscribing to this document have a different type of experience in the identification, treatment, counseling, orientation, care and support of gifted children, and want to increase their capacity of social penetration in order to help their families, promoting a networking, optimizing financial and professional resources.
The Partners of the Network agree to stipulate a cooperation agreement in behalf of Gifted Children.

New tools on behalf of Gifted Students in Italy and in Europe

Gifted children, having abilities and competencies above average, can have difficulties in adapting to school and, not being recognized in their own peculiarities and specific characteristics, can behave not properly.
The seminary is the occasion for Ulisse Prtners to subscribe the cooperation agreement and to present the teacher Biennal Course to become "Specialist in Gifted Education". The course is organized by the Italian Association for Gifted and Talented Children (www.aistap.org), coordinated by Lianne Hoogeveen of the Radboud University (Netherlands), with the scientific supervision of prof.
